Starting Over

by Mike on October 5, 2011

Well a lot of things are changing for me and I decided to redesign my site to reflect that. I moved out of the parents and into a house with a few high school friends in Meridian, ID. I’ve been working full time at one of the Idaho youth ranch thrift stores where I’m now a supervisor. Business has been on hold for a few months now, been saving funds to help get things rolling again, the hope is that we’ll be off and running by 2012, gotta work on the business plan though.

Also went out and picked up a guitar recently which I’m learning how to play on my own, I found a website with tons of free lessons on it that guide you through the basics and make it easy to learn.

And finally I’ve been reading a lot lately, made my way through the one minute manager and raving fans last week. Now I’m working on the seven habits of highly effective people. Looking for more leadership and character building books in the meantime.

That’s it for now, if you know of any good books let me know in the comments. :)

Been Sick

by Mike on January 18, 2010

Been sick all last week I think since Monday or so… Been trying to get rest to get better; the book club is tomorrow (Tuesday) and I’d like to be feeling at least healthy when I wake up for it at 6am. Not much else to write, I’m going to be sleeping in today (Monday) once I actually go to bed so I can take advantage of the holiday to get some more rest. When I wake up I plan to clean a little, read a little, and write a little. For now, time to sleep :)

Laptop is Back

by Mike on January 13, 2010

Finally got my laptop back the other day :) The video I posted yesterday was basically to celebrate that. Didn’t get too much done today though; woke up with a sore throat and basically and entirely sore body. Spent the whole day resting, hoping to feel a bit better by tomorrow since I have three meetings tomorrow :) Not much to say today because of this, so I’ll not waste your time, later!

Reading and Friends

by Mike on January 6, 2010

Spent most of today reading ‘Make today Count’, a book that I’m planning on sending to a few friends and some family members, it has a lot of good information about self development, lots of stuff that reminds me of Rich Dad, Poor Dad and If You Think You Can, You Can.

Other than that I spent the rest of the day hanging out with my friend Cody, tomorrow morning I have the Monthly GEDA Meeting and I will be meeting with the manager of the local Moxie Java to see about starting up a monthly business book club for local entrepreneurs and professionals. Until tomorrow!

Aaaannnnndddd … 20!

by Mike on January 5, 2010

Well suddenly I’m no longer a teen and because of this I feel like I can no longer make any excuses, though I shouldn’t have been making them anyways to begin with I’m no longer going to use my age as a crutch; this will be the most productive year of my life to date, my first yo-yo will be manufactured, my first yo-yo book will be published (whether it’s in ebook or physical format), the world yo-yo club will start to gain a form and will become franchised and we’ll just see where it goes from there, the goal is to have 1million people taught by 2015, this year is about finding the right people, getting things in order and EXPLODING the organization to achieve that goal. And to be clear I want to sound confident in what I’m doing, and not necessarily cocky, though it may come across that way.

And what I normally do here is recap the day so here’s what happened today; woke up at 5:30am and headed over to the flatbread community oven (I think that’s the accurate name) to attend VibesBB (good vibrations business and breakfast) to meet with other business people who are interested in increasing their knowledge and growing their businesses by networking and learning through the monthly books that we read. Today the focus was on Good to Great, a book that I’ve been reading for quite a while now (I’ve had this tendency to read a few chapters then take a break to read another book, something I need to work on). Anyways, it was a great meeting, I met a couple of people who can help me meet a few of my goals this year in potentially manufacturing the yo-yo and publishing the book. Can’t wait to see what happens from there.

After I got home from VibesBB I headed into Copy+ to work for a while and then headed home for the birthday celebration, basically pizza and a good movie. When the movie was starting I found out my parents had bought me a new hood for my car that I couldn’t put money into because I want to manufacture this yo-yo, which blew me away and is something I truly appreciate. My parents rock, just wanted to say that. Anyways, I gotta run, Gotta get back with the family, just wanted to make my daily update since that’s my goal for the month :) Hope you’re all having a rocking New year so far. Make this the year to achieve what you’ve always wanted to do, it’s a new decade and a new year, a double-wammy, why not run with it? :) Later folks!

Slow Monday

by Mike on January 4, 2010

Today was pretty slow; spent most of it cleaning and reading and in the end watching the BSU Bronco’s Football Game and they won! :D It was a good game, they were tied up in the middle and ended up getting a touchdown and a field goal kick in and then it was just a matter of keeping the other team from scoring.

In the business side of things I’m still waiting to hear from the machine shop that is working on my yo-yo. I was told we could get a prototype ran shortly after new year’s so once I find their phone number or get an email reply back I can see what it will take to move forward! That’s all for today, see you guys tomorrow on my Birthday! :D
